Green Paper blog challenge piece

This is the piece I created for the March 2012 challenge on the Green Paper blog. I pulled together elements from the 3 images we were given to produce a digital collage. Though I initially wasn't sure how to create a relationship between them, once I started putting things together, a story-line took shape. Thanks to the Green Paper blogger for another fun opportunity.

Well I haven't been very good at following up with the blog after my initial try out with this medium but I still have hopes of turning it into something more fruitful. I post digital collages on Facebook every week so I'll pass along a little sample from that venue. Enjoy!

Fall has arrived

Our unusually cool September has inspired me to give the house its fall makeover so I can begin to enjoy my favorite season, even though the colors outdoors aren't quite ready.

Green Paper challenge

For the September Green Paper challenge, I combined elements from Mary's vintage papers to create a digital collage that captures a strong and determined young woman who has set out to conquer the world. Go girl!

Very cool book

We recently added to our collection at the library a copy of Minnesota in 3D published by Voyageur Press and I just wanted to share it with you. It is very, very cool and a must have for Minnesotans who like their history.

Friday collage

It's time for my first real post and, true to the spirit of this spot, I'll begin with a collage. I love the combo of high-tech digital manipulation and vintage imagery. Once you learn a few basics, its a great format for playing with themes, testing your skills in composition and generating ideas. So, here you have it, the Friday collage.

This isn't perhaps my best effort to date but I loved the gothic background and wanted to try and pair it with some text.
